What is fractional CO2 laser?

As the skin ages, collagen and elastin, which add structure and elasticity, decrease, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and folds on the surface. Several treatments are available to reverse the signs of aging and improve the appearance of the skin, but laser resurfacing technology is known for its ability to safely and effectively restore the glow of youthful skin without damage or irritation.

While traditional lasers require extensive recovery and can sometimes cause irreversible damage to the skin, fractional CO2 laser technology combines the power of traditional CO2 lasers with new technology that delivers laser energy in a smaller fractionated column.

Once applied to the treatment area, the dispersed energy penetrates the skin's surface and stimulates the body's natural healing response, which begins to produce new collagen and elastin. Surrounding healthy skin is not damaged, thus increasing patient safety

Treatment Principle

The fractional laser produces array-like arrangement of tiny beams, which act on the skin to form multiple three-dimensional columnar structure of tiny thermal damage areas, each tiny damage area is surrounded by undamaged normal tissue, whose keratinocytes can quickly crawl and make it heal quickly. It can make the collagen fibers and elastic fibers proliferate and rearrange, so that the content of type I and III collagen fibers is close to the normal ratio, so that the structure of the pathological scar tissue is changed, gradually softened and restored elasticity. The main absorbing group of the fractional laser is water, which is the main component of the skin. It can cause contraction and denaturation of the dermal collagen fibers by heating, and induce a wound healing reaction in the dermis, resulting in orderly deposition of collagen and promoting collagen proliferation, thus improving skin elasticity and reducing scarring.

Advantages of CO2 fractional laser treatment instrument.

1、It can quickly improve the skin quality, tighten the skin and improve the enlarged pores.

2、Taking lessons ultra-pulse fractional laser takes laser aesthetics to a new level. Doctors can use its unique features, artful and comprehensive treatment, a single treatment can meet the unique body shape, contour and beauty needs of the aesthetician.

3.   The ultra-pulsed  fractional laser makes up for the lack of treatment techniques that require a long recovery period, taking care of each patient's specific requirements.

4、With a single artful and comprehensive treatment, the clinical and cosmetic results can be more precisely controlled, achieving more significant and precise results and shorter recovery time.

5、It can effectively avoid side effects such as thermal damage, and at the same time can promote the healing of the skin.

Carbon dioxide fractional laser treatment instrument's scope of application.

1,  Pigmented hyperplasia class skin diseases: freckles, coffee spots, nevus of Ota spots, tattoos, dust staining, etc.

2,  Skin capillary type damage: capillary dilation, spider nevus, bright red nevus, etc.

3,  Superficial benign skin tumors: pigmented nevi,  sebaceous nevi, sebaceous cysts, sweat gland tumors, lid xanthomas, senile warts, skin horns, skin superfluities, etc.

4,  viral skin diseases: common warts, flat warts, plantar warts, etc..

5,  Scars: post-operative scars, traumatic scars, post-acne scars, etc.

6,  Facial wrinkles.

7,  Other: bags under the eyes, single eyelids, rosacea and some other cosmetic surgery.

Who are not suitable for fractional laser treatment?

1、Keloid people.

2、Patients with severe diabetes, hypertension.

3,  Those who have too high expectations of the treatment effect.

4,  Active vitiligo and psoriasis.

5,  During pregnancy or lactation.

6,  Those with light allergy.

7,  Those who have undergone chemical peeling, grinding and other skin peeling procedures.

8,  Those who are recently using retinoid drugs.

9.  Patients who are unwilling to protect themselves from the sun after surgery and do not accept the risks of abrasion, etc.

Precautions after carbon dioxide fractional laser treatment.

1.  Within 7 days after laser treatment, try to avoid getting water on the treatment area, and also pay attention to keep the treatment area clean.

2.  On the third day after treatment, tiny scabs will begin to form on the local area, and the scabs will basically fall off in about 7 to 10 days. Be sure to let the scab mature and fall off on its own, do not artificially peel it off.

3.  Some patients may develop hyperpigmentation (dark-skinned skin is easy to appear), which will generally fade in 3~6 months, and will be accelerated with medication.

4.  Be sure to strictly protect yourself from the sun for 3 months after treatment. After debridement, you can use a sunscreen with SPF ≥ 30 and finish applying it 30 minutes before going out, wear a hat with a large brim or use a sunshade, and wear a mask at the same time.

Overall, fractional laser technology is currently the most talked about new medical aesthetic technology in the global skin and plastic surgery community and is a minimally invasive treatment between invasive and non-invasive. It has the advantages of non-invasive treatment, low side effects and short recovery time, combining the advantages of both with the rapid and remarkable results of invasive treatment. Compared with traditional laser treatment, fractional laser has a broader clinical use, and can be used to treat acne marks, fine wrinkles, skin aging, chloasma, coffee spots, enlarged pores, dullness and other skin problems, especially for acne marks have obvious treatment effects, clinical use proves the extraordinary effect of fractional laser, an ultra-minimally invasive, safe and fast laser cosmetic skin resurfacing system. Accordingly, the CO2 fractional laser treatment instrument is also gaining more favor in the dermatology departments of major hospitals and beauty care centers.
